Dr Vikesh P. Gajjar
Orthopaedic Surgeon | MBChB (UCT) FCS ORTHO (SA)
Dr Vikesh P. Gajjar is a medical graduate of the University of Cape Town. He also completed his specialist training at the University of Cape Town and qualified as an orthopaedic surgeon in 2003. Dr Gajjar undertook a Fellowship in Hip and Knee Surgery in the United Kingdom where he gained expertise in knee surgery. Upon his return to South Africa, he worked as a Senior Consultant and Head of Department at Livingstone Hospital in the Eastern Cape.
Dr Gajjar entered private practice at Netcare Greenacres Hospital in 2005. PE Knees was established in 2013 to pursue a passion for knee surgery. Dr Gajjar travels locally and internationally to update his knowledge and skills as a knee surgeon. He is a consultant for Corin SA and Smith and Nephew, and provides training for fellow surgeons.

Dr Christopher J.F. Arkell

Dr Christopher J.F. Arkell is a medical graduate of the University of Cape Town. He completed his specialist training at Livingstone and Tygerberg hospitals under Walter Sisulu University. Dr Arkell qualified as an orthopaedic surgeon in 2021 and worked as a Consultant at Livingstone Hospital in the Eastern Cape before joining PE Knees.
In addition to knee surgery, Dr Arkell has a keen interest in hip pathology, minimally invasive hip replacements and robotic surgery.

Sr Melissa Davids
Theatre Sister | BCur (NMU)
Sr Melissa Davids is a qualified nursing sister. She works alongside Dr Gajjar in theatre as his Scrub Sister. In the practice, Sr Davids runs the Pre-Operative Clinic and the Wound Clinic.

Dr Bhavna Morar is the link between the clinical and administrative aspects of PE Knees, and ensures that high standards are maintained in all areas of patient interaction.
Sue Ramsugit
Receptionist | Secretary
Sue Ramsugit is the charismatic face of PE Knees. She is responsible for booking appointments and deals with general enquiries and behind-the-scenes administrative tasks.
Belinda Anderson
Payments | Medical Aid Liaison
Belinda Anderson receives payments and submits claims to medical aid. She deals with queries regarding medical aids and gap cover, as well as outstanding debts.
Megan Gerber
Theatre Bookings | Joint Authorisations
Megan Gerber books operations and deals with hospital admissions. She provides a dedicated service to patients undergoing joint replacements, making the necessary peri-operative arrangements, getting medical aid authorisation and obtaining quotes for the prostheses.
